Kraków is the second largest city in Poland and has a population of approximately 800 thousand people. It is a historical city which dates back to 7th century. It is sometimes referred to as Royal City of Kraków as it was the capital of Polish Kingdom from 11th to 16th century. Kraków historical Centre is on the World Heritage List. Kraków is an important academic centre with around 200 thousand students studying in more than 20 universities in the city, the largest of which are Jagiellonian University and AGH University of Science and Technology.

Kraków is a touristic city.
